We are a collective of Professionals of Color who are committed to social reform through the cultivation of spaces and places rooted in belonging-centered principles that allow for all community members to co-create learning experiences where everyone feels safe, seen, and valued.
Vision
On OT serves to create a nation with a cross-cultural, collectivist identity where everyone is valued, heard, and welcomed, so that any individual can find meaningful connections no matter where their life journey takes them.
Core Beliefs
Connection and belonging are fundamental to both individual and collective fulfillment.
Moral decisions should not be based on outcome; right is right no matter how things end up turning out.
The most historically marginalized and vulnerable people deserve to have spaces designed with them in mind.
As life-long learners, we know that everyone has missteps and shaming someone for their errors will not help to grow them.
Sometimes personal sacrifices or compromises must be made for the collective good of the community.
Family represents the highest form of connection and does not necessarily have to include blood relatives.
Cultures are enhanced when they are shared and explored by others in a way that is appreciative rather than appropriative.
There are more commonalities in beliefs and experiences that bind us than there are that divide us.
Connecting people to pre-colonial cultural roots and traditions empowers those who have lost a sense of self from assimilation.
